Heat not working, blower motor makes humming sound when heat is turned on. Error code mentions pressure switch.
Customer wants two options. First option is for a aprilaire 700 humidifer. It an air handler but with the automatic controller it can run during the winter to help the house with humidity. Second option is for a air scrubber. The remo brand we get from re michaels The outdoor condenser is very out of level. Will need four bags of crushed stones. There's 2 different points of entry. One is thru the garage and upper basement door. Other is around the back.
From homeowner: Estimate for ductwork to vent range hood to exterior and consult on new hood specs so I ensure correct size and install features. Exeter Township 19606. Details: Have existing range hood, ductless. Will purchase new for > CFM. Need to vent new to existing exterior wall vent. Need consult to ensure my CFM calc is accurate and I know install-related specs I need in new hood. Can send photos.
Completed furnace maintenance by inspecting the heat exchanger for cracks, cleaning the burner assembly, and testing the flame sensor. Lubricated the blower motor and replaced the air filter to improve airflow. I also verified the thermostat calibration for accurate temperature control. The furnace is now performing efficiently and is prepared for the upcoming colder months.
Completed AC tune-up on Lennox XC25 variable-speed system. Cleaned condenser coil with coil bright. Tightened all electrical connections. Tested capacitors: all within 5% of rated values. Checked TXV operation: 10°F superheat, 12°F subcooling. Cleaned condensate drain with CO2 tablets. Replaced UV lamp in air handler. Verified proper charge using approach method. System now operating at peak efficiency.
Performed an HVAC replacement by removing an outdated system and installing a new unit. Disconnected the old equipment and installed the new air handler, condenser, and thermostat. Connected the refrigerant lines and charged the system with R-410A refrigerant. Tested the entire system to ensure it was running efficiently and delivering lasting comfort.
Responded to an emergency plumbing call for a burst pipe in the basement late last night. Upon arrival, I shut off the main water supply to prevent further flooding. Repaired the burst section by cutting out the damaged pipe and installing a new Pex pipe with crimp fittings. After completing the repair, I restored water flow and checked for any other potential issues.
Conducted site assessment for front porch remodeling project. Evaluated existing structure, noting load-bearing elements and potential code issues. Calculated square footage for new decking and railing materials. Assessed electrical requirements for outdoor lighting and GFCI outlets. Determined optimal joist spacing and beam sizes based on local building codes. Factored in frost-line depth for new footings. Compiled detailed material list and labor estimates. Provided homeowner with comprehensive quote, including permits and timeline for project completion.
Responded to AC malfunction in Reading, PA. Diagnosed Carrier 24ABB360A003 3-ton unit with low cooling output. Pressure testing revealed refrigerant leak at evaporator coil. Utilized Fieldpiece SRL8 to pinpoint leak location. Evacuated remaining R-410A (weight: 4.2 lbs). Replaced evaporator coil with Aspen CAUF3642C6CT. Pressure tested new installation to 450 PSI with nitrogen. Evacuated system to 250 microns using Yellowjacket 93600 vacuum pump. Recharged with 6.5 lbs of R-410A as per manufacturer specs. Adjusted TXV for 10°F superheat. Cleaned condenser coil with Nu-Calgon 4291-08 coil cleaner. Replaced 45/5 μF dual capacitor. Final testing showed 20°F delta-T across coil and 13.8 SEER performance. System now operating at optimal efficiency.
Repaired a water heater by replacing the faulty thermocouple. Shut off the gas supply and removed the burner assembly. Detached the old thermocouple and installed a new one, ensuring proper alignment with the pilot light. Reassembled the burner unit, reconnected the gas line, and tested the system. Verified that the pilot light remained lit and the water heater functioned correctly, restoring reliable hot water service.
Today I performed annual maintenance on a Rinnai RU199iN residential tankless water heater. First, I flushed the heat exchanger by connecting pump-flushing attachments to the cold and hot water ports. A descaling solution was circulated through the heat exchanger tubing to remove built-up mineral deposits. Next, I disassembled the burner assembly and cleaned the flame rod sensors using an emery cloth. The air intake filter was replaced with a new OEM filter element. All electrical components like the igniter, solenoid valves, and control board were inspected. Finally, I inspected the exhaust venting for any obstructions or leaks. The unit was fired up and combustion analyzed to ensure proper fuel-air mixture. Operations were verified per manufacturer specifications before reassembling the heater cover.
