Worked on a kitchen remodel where I handled the plumbing updates. Removed old, deteriorated pipes and installed new PEX piping for the kitchen sink and dishwasher. Replaced the shut-off valves and connected the supply lines to the sink. Additionally, I installed a new garbage disposal and connected it to the electrical outlet using a 15-amp GFCI for safety. Tested the water flow and disposal system, ensuring no leaks or electrical issues. The remodel is progressing well, with the plumbing fully updated to modern standards and ready for the rest of the kitchen appliances.
Repaired a heating system in Sinking Spring, PA where the blower motor had failed. Replaced the old motor with a new 1/3 HP blower motor. Inspected and replaced the capacitor, ensuring proper voltage. I also checked the thermocouple and adjusted the gas pressure to restore efficient heating. Tested the limit switch for safety, and the system is now functioning normally with restored heat.
Diagnosed and repaired Bradford White water heater. Found failed thermocouple. Replaced with universal thermocouple kit. Cleaned burner assembly and pilot orifice. Adjusted gas pressure to 5" WC. Verified proper safety valve operation. Flushed tank to remove sediment. Checked anode rod: 50% depleted. Set temperature to 120°F. Recovery time now within manufacturer specifications.
Repaired a plumbing leak under the kitchen sink. Found a loose connection on the P-trap that was causing water to drip. Removed the old trap, installed a new PVC P-trap, and applied plumber’s tape to all threads for a secure fit. After reassembling, I tested the sink by running water and confirmed that the leak was resolved.
Repaired leaking single-handle faucet in upstairs bathroom. Shut off water supply and disassembled faucet body. Identified worn ceramic disc cartridge as source of leak. Removed old cartridge and O-rings. Cleaned valve seat and installed new compatible cartridge with silicone lubricant. Replaced stem seals and handle adaptor. Reassembled faucet, ensuring proper alignment. Opened supply valves and tested for leaks at various flow rates. Confirmed smooth operation and complete shut-off. Leak successfully eliminated.
Addressed cooling failure in 2.5-ton Carrier split system. Multimeter testing identified shorted compressor windings. Recovered 5.2 lbs of R-410A refrigerant. Removed failed compressor and installed new 30,000 BTU scroll unit. Replaced bi-flow filter drier and Schrader valves. Pressure tested to 410 PSI with nitrogen. Evacuated system to 200 microns. Recharged to factory specifications. Verified proper amperage draw and operating pressures. Cooling function restored with 18°F delta T.
Responded to AC malfunction in Reading, PA. Diagnosed Carrier 24ABB360A003 3-ton unit with low cooling output. Pressure testing revealed refrigerant leak at evaporator coil. Utilized Fieldpiece SRL8 to pinpoint leak location. Evacuated remaining R-410A (weight: 4.2 lbs). Replaced evaporator coil with Aspen CAUF3642C6CT. Pressure tested new installation to 450 PSI with nitrogen. Evacuated system to 250 microns using Yellowjacket 93600 vacuum pump. Recharged with 6.5 lbs of R-410A as per manufacturer specs. Adjusted TXV for 10°F superheat. Cleaned condenser coil with Nu-Calgon 4291-08 coil cleaner. Replaced 45/5 μF dual capacitor. Final testing showed 20°F delta-T across coil and 13.8 SEER performance. System now operating at optimal efficiency.
